Literacy Ignite Grants

Class learning outdoors using maps and compasses.

Each school year the PSD Foundation provides funding that provides vital access to educational and developmental opportunities to students across Poudre School District. One way in which we help provide this much needed funding is through our classroom grant program. Historically this program was called the SPIE Grant program. However, during the pandemic the PSD Foundation board saw an opportunity refresh the classroom grant program to make it even more relevant to the needs of district educators in today’s classrooms–this updated program is called Ignite Grants.

PSD educators district-wide are invited to apply for up to $2,000 in funding for programming that will help improve learning outcomes and provide access to educational opportunities that would otherwise not be possible. Funding for Ignite Grants is made possible through the generosity of individuals and organizations in our community.

This past fall the PSD Foundation had over 80 PSD educators apply for Ignite Grant funding, ultimately, we were able to fund 27 requests. Educators who focused their applications on Literacy requested funding for programs and supplies that focus on providing supports for all students to reach proficiencies in reading and math.

This year’s Literacy Ignite Grant Recipients are:

  • Tom Chandler, Lincoln Middle School
  • Aleki Davis, Lincoln Middle School
  • Whitney Perez, Webber Middle School
  • Matt Strand, Polaris
